Part Four - Duney's Adventure

A few years went by, and Alicia's nightmares came true. The Charr army had waged war against the Ascalons, and all who could be, were sent to war.

Alicia was only sixteen when she was sent to the academy. She had fought horribly, not wanting to leave her little sister alone with no one to care for her. The last thing she managed to scream before they dragged her off.

"Duney!! Get to Kerk's house as fast as you can! He'll protect you! Follow the old trail through the woods, and sing the old song if you have to! Rayne will hear you when you come near and she'll come! Be brave Duney, be brave!!"

"Licia!! NO!!" Duney screamed at the Vangaurd, pounding on one's arm. "Let her go!! She can't leave me! No!!"

In her anger and tears she managed to curse and poison the men who were dragging her sister away. Although a monk they had brought with them had releived them of it, she kept screaming the incantations, over and over again.

"NOOO!!" She screamed and started to cry harder. "YOU CAN'T TAKE HER! SHE'S MY SISTER AND YOU CAN'T TAKE HER FROM ME!!"

She thought of every spell she had ever been taught and screamed them at the vangaurd.

"Duney, stop!! You can't beat them! Save your energy!" Alicia managed to yell back at her sister as she was dragged along. "Just GO!! Get to Kerk! He'll know what to do!"

Duney stood in the road crying as she watched her sister being dragged to Ascalon, fighting the entire way. After her sister was gone from view, she decided to do as she was told. She ran back to the house and rested a minuet, letting what little energy she had left rebuild. After she had done so, she started her packing.

She went to the closet and took out a salvage kit, double checking to make sure it hadn't been depleated of resources. She also reached for an identification book, rapidly flipping through it's old pages. She ran to her room, digging beneath her bed for her staff. As she pulled it out, she gently caressed the skull at the top. She also rummaged in an old box for a map, and once finding one, tucked it into a pouch on her belt.

Her supplies in hand, she took off out the door, stopping to let out her pet warthog on the way.

Part Five - The Academy's Prodigy

Alicia fought violently as the vangaurd dragged her along the rocky path to Ascalon. Although she was nearly drained of energy, she managed to spout off one last fireball, badly burning some of the group. She continued to kick and scream through the rest of the journey, and into Ascalon.

The townspeople stared on as she was dragged up the sairs and across the bridge to the Academy. She was breathing hard as she continued to fight through the halls of the old building.

I was not until she was thrown down before the professor that she quieted. She looked up, shaking her head to the right to get the hair out of er eyes. She scowled at the professor as she righted her position on the cold stone floor.

"A fighter? Oh, well you're just wht we're looking for.." The professor's voice trailed off.

"I am an Elementalist." She said as if him calling her a fighter was an insult, standing and turning to a wall filled with weapons, scanning over the wands.

"Get me a target will you?" she said pulling a flame artifact and wand from the wall.

As she turned she started the incantation to Fire Storm, an arcane breeze lifing her off her feet. She shouted the last word of the incantation and thrust the gathered energy at the target. Balls of fire rained from the sky as the wooden target burned to the ground.

"So, where's my class?" she smirked as she played with the little flame captive in the iron cage at the head of her wand.

Just read over this. Simple, but enjoyable. question though...did like...the Alice girl just change from not wanting to go to willingly hitting a target?

Ah, ok. Thank you for clearing that up. Maybe you should try and include parts like that in the text though, giving the reader some insight into the characters head. Either way, this is an enjoyable fanfic, Keep at it.
